Welcome to John Yeackle's Buckboard Gallery!
The Buckboard Gallery showcases the art of world renowned watercolor artist John Yeackle.
In 1950, John and his family moved from Alabama to Seminole County, Florida. His parents had purchased a fish camp with a nearly uninhabitable shack that was to be the family's new home. For this ten year old boy, it was Tarzan's backyard. His enjoyment of the natural beauty on the wild Wekiva River would be used during the years ahead to cement his deep love of God's creation and showcase his talent to bring it to life in watercolor.
In 1973, after finishing college, marrying the lovely Jane Price and a brief career as a microbiologist, he brought his young family to Florida to begin his career as an artist. As a budding young artist he needed a place to sell his art. His parents, out of great pride and a desire to support their son, created a place in his father's bustling Shell service station located at Interstate 4 and Highway 46 in Sanford. So was born the Buckboard Gallery!
